Katy Perry Unchains herself from beau Bloom
KATY PERRY may be busy promoting new track Chained To The Rhythm, but it seems she’s broken her bonds with boyfriend Orlando Bloom.
The news comes as footage emerged of the Pirates Of The Caribbean actor cosying up to another brunette just a few days ago.
But the split appears to amicable as the pair issued a joint statement — reminiscent of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s ‘conscious uncoupling’ — saying: ‘Before rumours or falsifications get out of hand, we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time.’
Still the news is a surprise as Katy and Orlando were snapped together at the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party and only yesterday Orlando posted a cute pic of himself with what looks to be Katy’s pet pooch.
Katy and Orlando had been together for just over a year, first hitting it off at last January’s Golden Globes, and seemed to be getting serious, with one source claiming that Katy had big plans for 2017.
‘Katy is determined to make this year the best ever and is not letting money get in the way,’ said the insider.
‘She wants a combination of holidays and bucket list experiences, including seeing some of the world’s most famous sights.’
Even Orlando’s ex Miranda Kerr had given Katy her seal of approval, saying the son she shares with her former husband ‘get[s] along really well’ with her.
But there were hints of trouble in paradise when Katy complained last September about the distance she had to drive from her LA home to visit Orlando.
‘My boyfriend lives in Malibu, and getting used to that was like, “Are you kidding me? What kind of life is this?” she said.
The pair also seemed to be spending a lot of time apart recently — Orlando with his filming for Unicef and Perry promoting her new single — but they will forever be remembered for THAT paddleboard image.
