JUSTIN BIEBER looked like he fancied trying out for the Dallas Cowboys US football team as he trotted out some bizarre clobber on the New York streets.

The 23-year-old attempted to pull off teaming a Stetson cowboy hat with a gold baseball jacket and white workout gear emblazoned with his name.

Not having a piece of real straw to hand on Tuesday, he chewed on a green plastic drinking straw instead.

The singer is known for his flamboyant fashion sense — he once donned a yellow hard hat encrusted with studs and has stepped out in rose-printed cropped trousers.
