Judy Finnigan is ‘done with TV’

JUDY FINNIGAN has ended her TV career, according to her daughter Chloe Madeley.
The presenter, who turned 70 yesterday, is best known for being one half of TV duo Richard and Judy with husband Richard Madeley, alongside whom she hosted ITV’s flagship daytime programme This Morning from 1988 until 2001.
The couple’s daughter Chloe, 30, told The Sun newspaper: ‘My mum is done with TV and if she went back to it I don’t think it would make her happy.

‘She wants to concentrate on other things, such as her health and our family.’
But does this mean that her dad — eight years Judy’s junior, at 62 — is planning to slow down too?
No, reckons Chloe, adding: ‘My dad is still in the mix on TV. I love watching him do what he does best and I love listening to him.’
Indeed Richard has previously acted as a stand-in for Matthew Wright who recently quit The Wright Stuff, so perhaps there is an opening for him there.
He has also co-hosted ITV’s Good Morning Britain on occasion.

After quitting This Morning, the couple moved to Channel 4 in 2001, where they had a 5pm chat show called Richard and Judy. The programme moved to the channel Watch in 2008, but ended in 2009.
In 2014, Finnigan became a panellist on ITV’s Loose Women, appearing several times until 2015, but in recent years she has been largely absent from the small screen.
