Joe Thomas’s festival antics aren’t suitable for mum and dad

THE Inbetweeners actor Joe Thomas banned his folks from the red carpet premiere of The Festival.

The 34-year-old, who played hapless Simon Cooper in the hit E4 series, is subjected to more screen humiliation in the movie, which he has deemed too much for his parents to witness.

That’s because Nick, the uni graduate he plays, pegs it across a field in his undies, downs shots and has sex in cars.

Joe was cheered on with his fiancée and former co-star Hannah Tointon, 30, at Cineworld in London’s Leicester Square last night along with Dermot O’Leary, Jimmy Carr and a host of Love Island stars.

Before stepping out, he explained a remake of The Inbetweeners in the US flopped because characters ‘couldn’t swear or drink’ on network TV.

‘That’s kind of the whole show,’ he said.
