Jay-Z’s mum’s GLAAD all over

EMOTIONS ran high for JAY-Z’s mother, Gloria Carter, after she won an honour at the GLAAD awards.

She received the special recognition accolade for her role in his song Smile, about her coming out as a lesbian.

‘I shared with my son who I am,’ teary-eyed Gloria told the crowd at the New York ceremony.

‘Here I am. I’m loving. I’m respectful. I’m productive and I’m a human being who has a right to love who I love,’ she continued. ‘So everybody, just smile. Be free.’
