Javier Bardem’s the Hollywood bad guy who hates violence

HOLLYWOOD hardman Javier Bardem has revealed he hates violence.
The Spaniard, who made his mark playing remorseless hitman Anton Chigurh in Oscar-winning film No Country For Old Men, developed the loathing after getting involved in a fight in his youth.
‘I still can’t watch it,’ he told GQ magazine. ‘So why did I do No Country For Old Men, right? ‘When the camera stopped rolling I would beg the Coen brothers, “Please, take that gun out of my face guys”.’
The 48-year-old, who sported a distinctive bob in the 2007 movie, added: ‘I love the Coens — they’re geniuses. But it was tough. And I’ll never forgive them for that damn haircut.’ He also revealed he had to think twice about getting romantically involved with wife Penelope Cruz, as she is so ‘feisty’.
‘I had to wonder, “Do I really want this?” She has what I call the loving blood. Passion for everything,’ said Bardem, whose next screen outing is in Pirates Of The Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge.
