James Morrison will get the snip after brush with death

JAMES MORRISON is getting the snip after revealing his fiancée nearly died while giving birth to their second daughter.
James, who has been with Gill Catchpole for 17 years, said they were left traumatised when daughter Ada-Rose was born prematurely at 27 weeks. During emergency surgery, the Broken Strings singer’s wife-to-be almost ‘died on the operating table’ after losing four pints of blood, he said.
Speaking exclusively to Guilty Pleasures, the 34-year-old said the experience — coupled with the stress of experiencing several miscarriages — pushed the pair’s relationship to the brink.

‘I’ve been through the worst s***, but Ada-Rose is my little miracle,’ he said of their one-year-old bundle of joy.
‘Am I going to have more kids? No way. I am going to get the snip. Losing those few babies in between having Elsie (aged ten) and Ada-Rose was tough. I can’t go through it again.’
After eight years of trying to conceive unsuccessfully, James was delighted when Gill fell pregnant again, until she went into labour prematurely.
He recalled: ‘The baby was breach and they (surgeons) cut through the umbilical cord as they were giving her a Caesarean section, so they had to do an emergency blood transfusion. She has really low blood pressure and nearly died on the operating table.’
After the release of his last album Higher Than Here in 2015, James was dropped by record label Island, so turned his attentions to parenthood. But now he is relaunching his music career and new single Power is a tribute to Gill, 40.
‘We have been close to splitting up but I’ve asked her to marry me. We’re going to have a big wedding when Ada-Rose is able to walk down the aisle with us,’ he said.
James is set to embark on a UK tour. His new LP, You’re Stronger Than You Know, is out on March 8.
