J-Law on the story behind her split with Darren Aronofsky

JENNIFER LAWRENCE warns against mixing business with pleasure following her break-up with director boyfriend Darren Aronofsky.

After announcing last week that they had called ‘cut’ on the relationship, J-Law revealed they were driven apart by negative reviews for their horror drama Mother!

‘Normally, I promote a movie, ask people to go see it, then it’s out of your hands,’ explained the Oscar-winner, who met Aronofsky, 48, on the film. ‘Dating the director was different. We’d be on the [press tour] together, I’d come back to the hotel, and the last thing I want to talk about or think about is a movie. [But] he comes back, and that’s all he wants to talk about.

‘I was doing double duty trying to be a supportive partner, while also being like, “Can I please, for the love of God, not think about Mother! for one second?!” I finally was just like, “It’s not healthy”.’ Thinking about her Hunger Games days Jen, 27, recalled living the high life when she ‘out-smoked’ her weed-loving co-star Woody Harrelson.

‘Woody told me, “Slow down Jen, this isn’t Jamaica”,’ she tells Variety’s Actors On Actors project.

‘I was like 21 or 22… “Oh my God, I just out-smoked Woody!” It was such a big moment.’
