Is Gaga diva enough to replace Beyoncé?

LADY GAGA is looking like fans’ favourite to step into Beyoncé’s shoes at US festival Coachella.
The pregnant Sorry singer revealed the disappointing news that she would have to sit this one out in a statement last night, which read: ‘Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyoncé has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.’
She softened the blow, however, by announcing she would headline next year.
‘Goldenvoice and Parkwood are pleased to confirm that she will be a headliner at the 2018 festival. Thank you for your understanding,’ she wrote.
Now — with the April event just weeks away — speculation is ramping up about who should replace her, with an insider telling Hollywood Life that: ‘Organisers are already scrambling to ask very big artists and Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, and Taylor Swift are the front runners on the wishlist.’
And it seems fans agree, as a Billboard poll has the Million Reasons singer hogging 43.5 per cent of the vote.
At time of going to press her nearest rival Rihanna was trailing behind on a measly 17.5 per cent, while Grammy-winning Adele got 7.7 per cent, and Taylor and Katy Perry only netted 3.84 and 3.64 per cent apiece.
One thing’s for sure, with Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar headlining Friday and Sunday nights, another power diva is urgently needed.
