I’m A Celeb’s Amir Khan accused of slippery tactics

I’M A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here viewers have accused contestant Amir Khan of faking a fear of snakes.
The boxer took part in his first bushtucker trial in last night’s show, in which he had to try to rescue Made In Chelsea’s Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo from a box of creepy critters by putting his hand in a series of holes to retrieve a key.
Unfortunately for Amir, one of those holes contained a rather terrifying-looking snake and he completely freaked out, shrieking a fair bit before uttering the inevitable: ‘I’m a celebrity get me out of here!’
Amir and Toff were sent back without having won any dinner — and their campmates weren’t the only ones who were unimpressed.
Viewers piled in on Twitter to mock the boxing champ, with one tweeting: ‘GOBSMACKED at Amir Khan the absolute wimp,’ while another branded him a ‘disappointment’.

To be fair to Amir, he did say he was afraid of snakes and that he hoped the show would ‘go easy’ on him, but some viewers wondered if this fear was real as snaps emerged of the boxer happily posing with a python.

If Amir had hoped for an easy run, he clearly hasn’t understood I’m A Celebrity, as several viewers took great delight in saying they’d now be voting for him to undertake every trial.
‘Don’t bother voting guys, 100 per cent guarantee after today’s performance, Amir will be doing tomorrow’s trial,’ wrote one.
I’m A Celebrity continues tonight on ITV at 9pm
