I’m A Celeb stars receive heartwarming reminders of home

I’M A Celebrity… viewers have been hooked by the love affair between Harry Redknapp and his wife of 54 years, Sandra — and in last night’s show they got to hear from his other half as campmates received heartwarming letters from home.
Having spent more than two weeks away from their loved ones in the jungle, the stars — including football manager Harry — finally got messages from the outside world during last night’s show and the overwhelming sentiment was one of pride.
Sandra’s message, read out to Harry by singer Fleur East, said: ‘I have always been proud of you, but the last two weeks watching you has made me realise your strength and determination to succeed at anything life throws at you.’
Then she joked: ‘But I never thought it would mean eating fish eyes!’
The letter went on: ‘You have made us all proud. We miss you terribly but I am being well looked after by everybody. The family love you and are so proud of you. Love you always. PS jam roly poly is waiting!’
And The Inbetweeners actress Emily Atack got a letter from her mum that was similarly sweet and complimentary.
Read out by John Barrowman, whom Emily’s mum described as a ‘friend for life’, it said: ‘You’re so funny and your beautiful freckly face without makeup reminds me of when you were nine years old.
‘I know that in John you have made a friend for life. Keep being kind to others and keep doing the impressions.’
DIY SOS host Nick Knowles’s 24-year-old son TJ wrote slightly more formally, but with no less pride shining through.
It said: ‘I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you how very proud I am of you, not only in terms of how you are doing in the camp, but most importantly how proud I am that you’re my dad.’
