Harry’s Swift lesson in love was inspiring

HARRY STYLES didn’t know there would be trouble when he walked in Central Park with Taylor Swift on an innocent date. The 1D heart-throb insists he thought dating the pop babe would be ‘simple’.
But when he looked at photos from that day in 2013, he said: ‘Relationships are hard — at any age.You don’t really understand how it works when you’re 18. I mean, you’re a little bit awkward to begin with. You’re on a date with someone you really like. It should be simple, right? It was a learning experience, for sure.’
Asked what he thought of Taylor’s hits Out Of The Woods and Style — rumoured to be about their break-up — Harry said they’re ‘great’.
‘I don’t know if they’re about me or not,’ he said. ‘I’m lucky if everything [we went through] helped create those songs,’ he added.
The Sign Of The Times singer, 23, chooses to focus on the positives of their fleeting fling, rather than think ‘this didn’t work out, and that’s bad’.
‘If you run into that person, maybe it’s awkward, maybe you have to get drunk… but you shared something. Meeting someone new, sharing experiences, it’s the best s*** ever,’ he said.
Hazza — who’s dated Kendall Jenner on-and-off — also teased another ex-lover was ‘a huge part’ of his debut solo album. ‘Sometimes you want to tip the hat, sometimes you want to give them the whole cap … and hope they know it’s just for them,’ he said.
Styles decides to pen heartbreak hits as fans don’t want him to sing about ‘how great everything is’.
‘Champagne popping… who wants to hear about it?’ he said.
Meanwhile, his ‘first proper’ love, at 15, gave him his first taste of obsession.
‘Spent 70 per cent of my wages on train tickets,’ he told Rolling Stone magazine. ‘I remember her perfume. I smell it all the time. I’ll be in a lift and say to someone, “Alien, right?” Sometimes they’re impressed, sometimes they’re creeped out.’
