Greg James roars into early show

GREG JAMES had the help of a lion, the Red Arrows and DJ Calvin Harris to nail his debut Radio 1 Breakfast Show yesterday.
Fans said the 32-year-old ‘smashed it’ after taking over from Nick Grimshaw.
‘There’s a lot in today’s show, I’ve been preparing it for about 20 years,’ he said.
Over the phone, a keeper at Blackpool Zoo managed to coax Wallace the lion to grunt and roar.
Because of a lack of cash, it was the Red Arrows minus their planes, while he called Harris and chatted about gardening. ‘That has flown by, pardon the pun,’ James said. ‘I’ve loved it.’
