Get with The Script … schmooze and you lose in fame game

THE SCRIPT say they are the most ‘anti-social’ schmoozers going — and they hate celebs who moan about being papped.
The Irish rockers are back after spending three years working on their upcoming fifth album.
But, in an exclusive catch-up with Guilty Pleasures, lead singer Danny O’Donoghue was happy to go off script.
‘We’re probably the most anti-social lads and don’t really hang out with anyone in the business,’ the 37-year-old said. ‘We party with our mates in private. I couldn’t give a f*** about other famous people.’
Guitarist Mark Sheehan, 40, concurred: ‘We are very anti-VIP bars. We get invited to the top clubs with Cristal champagne, but we’re like, “No”.’
Ex-The Voice coach O’Donoghue then sounded off at famous faces who feel hounded. ‘When we were kicking off, you’d see pictures of celebs coming out the back doors of clubs and you realise their publicist has called the paps.
‘They are moaning about paparazzi, but the paparazzi are not everywhere — I could go to my local pub, fall out and no one is taking a picture because I’m not calling anyone,’ the Hall Of Fame singer said. ‘I’m not saying who it was, but I was present for a call from somebody to tell the paparazzi where they were going to be,’ he recalled.
‘They were very open about calling them, “I’m going to walk out now.” I was like, “See you, I’m not hanging out with you”.’
Of their recent hiatus, O’Donoghue said the band — completed by drummer Glen Power, 39 — had ‘started to get antsy’ with showbiz and ‘weren’t really happy’.
With new single, Rain, (out now), the frontman mused: ‘We wrote about 70 songs over a year and a half and had to pick 14. We’re constantly f***ing around with words in our head all day long.’
