Germaine Greer: It’s women exploiting #MeToo

FEMINIST writer Germaine Greer has claimed female abuse victims of the #MeToo movement are ‘cashing in’.
The 79-year-old Australian said: ‘The women involved in #MeToo have chosen to appear in news media as victims — these days called survivors — time and time again.’
She added: ‘The display of female victimhood is not the result of a conspiracy between wicked men but a straightforward capitulation to market forces.
‘Female victimisation sells. What should disturb us is that it sells to women.’
The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant wrote in the Radio Times article that the dozens of men alleging abuse by male celebrities refrained from ‘exhibiting themselves’.
