George Clooney rushed to hospital after motorbike smash

GEORGE Clooney may be swearing off his motorcycle for a while — after getting involved in a motorway crash in Sardinia this morning.
The 57-year-old actor is reported to be staying on the island in a villa in San Teodoro with wife Amal and twins Ella and Alexander while he films TV series Catch-22.

But this morning when the crash occurred, he was said to have been heading to the set from a hotel in Costa Corallina in the north of the island.
According to local news outlets, Clooney’s motorbike was hit by a Mercedes when the car was said to have ‘suddenly turned’ sending George smashing into the windscreen.

The star was taken by ambulance to the A&E of the John Paul II hospital in Olbia, but according to reports lucky George sustained only a minor knee injury — although earlier reports said he had injured his pelvis.
Clooney is playing US Air Force commander Scheisskopf in a six-part drama based on Joseph Heller’s classic novel, which is set to air on Channel 4 in 2019.
He and wife Amal spend a lot of time in Italy and have a home together on Lake Como.
