Fergie offered to adopt me, says X Factor’s Dalton Harris

X FACTOR winner Dalton Harris has revealed how the Duchess of York offered to adopt him when he sang for her at Kensington Palace.

Fergie, 59, was touched by the story of the 24-year-old, who spent his teenage years living on the streets. In an exclusive chat with Guilty Pleasures, Dalton said he couldn’t believe his luck when he found himself performing at the palace last month as part of the Street Child charity’s tenth anniversary, also attended by Princess Eugenie.

‘Singing for some of the royals was a surreal moment and one I will not forget quickly,’ he said. ‘Fergie was so kind, she told me she wanted to adopt me! It made me laugh. I used to live on the streets, and there I was standing in the palace! Afterwards she sent me a vegan candle. I’m interested in becoming vegan and had been talking about it with Fergie, so it was nice she remembered.’
