Fan mania? There’s barely a flicker now

ONE DIRECTION might have enjoyed years of intense fan mania, but Niall is finding there is more ‘freedom’ with his solo success.

He told GP: ‘Back in the 1D days there was a lot of attention. We never got the chance to step outside the door of the hotel. Now I love waking up in a new city with a new language and new food each day.’

Niall confirmed to us that a second solo album is already in the works after his debut, Flicker, recently passed a landmark one billion streams on Spotify.

He revealed that he’s been ‘tinkering on the piano’ while touring the globe as a solo performer, and admitted he would love to ‘do something’ with Shawn Mendes, 19.
