Ewan McGregor thanks his wife — and rumoured girlfriend — at Golden Globes

EWAN McGREGOR may have walked the red carpet alone at last night’s Golden Globe awards, but he was full of praise for not one but two women in his life.
Stepping up to the podium to collect his award for best actor in a limited TV series for his portrayal of twins Emmit and Ray Stussy in Fargo, the suave Scot paid tribute to both his wife and rumoured new girlfriend.

Ewan, 46, has been married to French production designer Eve Mavrakis, 51, since 1995 and the pair have four children, two adopted.
But reports of their estrangement emerged in autumn last year and Ewan has reportedly been seen looking intimate with his Fargo co-star Mary Elizabeth Winstead, 33.

Whatever the status of their relationship, Ewan made a show of support for his wife of more than 20 years, saying: ‘I want to take a moment to just say thank you to Eve, who always stood by me for 22 years, and my four children Clara, Esther, Jamyan and Anouk.’
Looking sharp in a black shirt and tux with a Time’s Up movement badge on his lapel, Ewan then went on to namecheck his rumoured new flame.’I’ve always loved being an actor and I love hanging out with actors and I got amazing actors to work with on this,’ he said.
‘There wouldn’t have been Emmit Stussy without David Thewlis and Michael Stuhlbarg and Carrie Coon and there wouldn’t have been a Ray without Mary Elizabeth Winstead.’
