Ed Sheeran insists Russell was wrong to Crowe on about wedding

ED SHEERAN has denied he is engaged to childhood sweetheart Cherry Seaborn — after revealing pal Russell Crowe said sorry for kicking off false wedding rumours.

The Australian actor, 53, and 26-year-old chart-topper have struck up an odd friendship — and, in a recent interview, the Oscar-winner dubbed Cherry, 25, Ed’s ‘fiancée’.

The Shape of You singer was keen to explain: ‘He’s only met Cherry once and I didn’t introduce her. I think he just assumed. But no, we’re not engaged. He emailed me to say sorry,’ Ed added.

Speaking about his mate, Russell previously said: ‘He was on tour here and getting burned out, so stayed at the farm for a few days. We became conversational mates. He has subsequently gone back to the farm with his fiancée for more time.’
