DJ Paul van Dyk awarded £9m damages for stage fall

SUPERSTAR DJ Paul van Dyk has won £9.6million in damages after a stage fall in Holland left him in a coma, brain-damaged and temporarily in a wheelchair.
Video footage captured the moment (below) Van Dyk, 47, fell 33ft down a manhole on stage at Utrecht’s A State Of Trance festival three years ago.

The German club star, real name Matthias Paul, slipped into a coma after breaking his back and suffering head injuries.
After coming round he told fans on Facebook: ‘Although there is a long way ahead for me to completely recover, I am positive, optimistic and doing absolutely everything I can to get back to my passion and share with you my love for music.’
The damages include future medical costs and loss of earnings.
