Did someone just body shame Meryl?

ALL Hollywood loves Meryl Streep following her barnstorming speech at last month’s Golden Globes — everyone, that is, except designer Karl Lagerfeld, it seems.

The pair have reportedly got into a spat over a frock, with claims being made that the Hollywood icon turned down a custom-made creation.

‘I made a sketch, and we started to make the dress,’ the Chanel boss told fashion website WWD.

But he claims someone from Meryl’s team later phoned saying: ‘Don’t continue the dress. We found somebody who will pay us.’

Meryl, however, has labelled the claims ‘absolutely false’ and told The Hollywood Reporter it was against her ‘personal ethics’ to ever be paid to wear a gown.

Confirming that Chanel never pays celebrities to wear its clothes, Lagerfeld issued what sounds to us like a very subtle burn.

‘She could keep the dress,’ he said, ‘because of the size.’ Ouch.
