Demi Lovato’s mum relives the horror of drug collapse

DEMI LOVATO’S mum has been reliving how she first heard about the singer’s drug overdose — in a string of text messages from friends who had seen reports online.
Dianna De La Garza said her ‘heart just dropped’ when one friend alerted her with: ‘I just saw on TMZ. I’m so sorry. Please tell me it’s not true.’
Describing her dash to the LA hospital’s emergency room in July, Ms De La Garza said that when she arrived at her daughter’s bedside: ‘She just didn’t look good — at all. She was in bad shape.’
As for how the 26-year-old Sober singer is shaping up now, her mum added: ‘I can honestly say today that she’s doing really well. She’s happy. She’s healthy.
‘She’s working on her sobriety, and she’s getting the help she needs. And that in itself encourages me about her future and about the future of our family.’
