David Beckham’s turn in King Arthur trashed

DAVID BECKHAM has received some less than complimentary reviews for his performance in King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword.
The 42-year-old former footballer looks very far from his usual beautiful self playing broken-nosed Trigger in the latest retelling of the legend — and a clip released yesterday failed to endear him to film lovers.
In the minute-long teaser, Charlie Hunnam, who is about to attempt to pull the sword Excalibur from the stone, enters asking ‘Where do you want me?’
In reply, Beckham sarcastically trills: ‘Bouncing on my knee? Where do you think I want you? Hands on the hilt, stupid.’
One Twitter user said it was ‘the worst piece of acting I have had the misfortune to witness’.
Another wrote: ‘Just heard a clip of Mr David Beckham in the new King Arthur film oh god it’s cringe…’
But not everyone panned David’s efforts — one fan even declared he should be offered a part in Game Of Thrones after watching the clip
Another said it made them want to watch the movie all the more, tweeting: ‘David Beckham is on the King Arthur movie!?? That just really seals it, I’m committed to that movie now.’
King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword is released on May 19
