David Beckham’s ‘best birthday surprise’
DAVID Beckham received the best birthday gift any dad can get yesterday — when his eldest son Brooklyn surprised him with a flying visit in the middle of his celebratory dinner.
The footballer, who turned 43 yesterday, clearly had no idea Brooklyn, who is currently studying in New York, was intending to show up as sneaky wife Victoria threw everyone off the scent early in the day by posting a cute snap of the proud dad surrounded by all his kids but one.
She captioned it: ‘Happy birthday to the best daddy!! X we all love u so much!!! So many kisses from us all xxxx we miss u @brooklynbeckham X’.
But Posh must have known all along that Brooklyn was in fact winging his way to the UK because she started filming the moment he walked in the restaurant door and managed to capture the emotional moment between her hubby and eldest boy.
David looked like he couldn’t believe his eyes and was clearly choking back tears, asking Brooklyn over and over, ‘What are you doing here?’
Posting a clip of the tearful reunion to his Instagram account, the big-hearted footballer wrote: ‘Best birthday surprise, my big boy coming home.’
And fans were overcome with emotion too, it seems, with one commenting, ‘This gave me all the feels,’ while another wrote: ‘Gahhh something so emotional and raw about this video, how cute ❤️’
Brooklyn and his dad have always seemed super-close and David is a regular visitor to his son in New York.
