David Beckham has ‘heated discussions’ behind closed doors

DAVID BECKHAM isn’t known for speaking out on politics, but he revealed his ‘passion’ for the subject this week — and his close-to-home reason for caring.
The former England footballer told the Evening Standard he had ‘heated discussions with friends’ behind closed doors, adding: ‘I do definitely feel passionate about politics at the moment.’
While he didn’t reveal which side of the political divide he comes down on, the father of four — whose eldest, Brooklyn, recently left home to start a photography course in New York — did explain why the subject is playing on his mind at present.
‘When you have children — young children and older children going to university in America — you are, of course, concerned and worried.
‘What are their lives going to be like? That’s my main concern.’
Becks also revealed that he’s a strict papa with the children that remain at home, Romeo, Cruz and daughter Harper.
‘Kids need to know there are boundaries, in life and in school,’ he said. ‘Pick up your clothes — don’t make your parents do it. Pick up the wet towel from the floor. Unload the dishwasher.’
And like every parent, David acknowledged that making time for his other half, Victoria, could be tricky, but he shared that they often make time for a bottle of wine on ‘date nights’.
