Daniel Craig hopes Bond swansong will be an all-time high

DANIEL CRAIG has confirmed he will return to play the world’s most famous secret agent — despite previously claiming he’d ‘rather slash [his] wrists’.
The four-time Bond actor made the announcement on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert last night — to rapturous applause from the audience.
He said he ‘couldn’t be happier’ about the decision, but indicated that this film would definitely be his last outing as the super spy.
‘I think this is it. I just want to go out on a high note and I can’t wait,’ he told Colbert.

Daniel also explained why he previously made such rash statements about never returning to the role.
‘There’s no point in making excuses about it, but it was two days after I finished shooting the last movie,’ he said.
‘I went into an interview and someone said, “Would you do another one?”
‘Instead of saying something with style and grace, I gave a really stupid answer.’
Clearly, Daniel has absorbed some of Bond’s grace, however, as he told Colbert he managed to keep his return secret for a ‘couple of months’.

He recently told US radio station Magic that he would ‘love to do it’, but was weighing up ‘personal decisions’.
To date, Daniel has appeared in Casino Royale, Quantum Of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre. The new, a yet untitled Bond film, is due out in 2019.
