Coldplay’s Chris Martin is a modern-day Shakespeare, says JAY-Z

HIS simple, catchy lyrics may go ‘para-para-paradise’, but now JAY-Z has compared Coldplay’s Chris Martin to a modern-day Shakespeare.
And the US rapper fears Britain won’t fully appreciate the scale of the Paradise hitmaker’s talents for years to come.
The record label boss, 47, who along with missus Beyoncé is pals with Chris and his ex Gwyneth Paltrow, told Guilty Pleasures: ‘We are good friends — but what I got to say has nothing to do with our friendship.
‘I have been in the industry long enough to know when I’m in the presence of a genius… and Chris Martin is just that.
‘In years to come, Britain will look back at him as a modern day Shakespeare,’ the star gushed. ‘He is an incredible recording artist, an incredible songwriter, but where he really comes alive is performing live. If you get the chance to see Coldplay live, do it — you ain’t gonna regret it,’ he said.
Meanwhile, there is no love lost between JAY-Z and friend-turned-foe Kanye West — whose feud was explored in a Channel 4 documentary last night.
Public Enemies: JAY-Z vs Kanye hinted the latter’s relationship with reality TV queen Kim Kardashian has driven a huge wedge between them.
Meanwhile, JAY-Z has given daughter Blue Ivy her big break in showbiz. A bonus track on new album 4:44, titled Blue’s Freestyle/We Family, features the five-year-old rapping. It was released as he and Bey worked up a sweat at a SoulCycle workout in Santa Monica.
