Coldplay defends Noel Gallagher’s no-show

CHRIS MARTIN has waded into the ongoing feud between the Oasis brothers by posting a series of tweets praising Noel.
Coldplay took to the stage with Liam Gallagher to sing Live Forever and Don’t Look Back In Anger at Sunday’s One Love Manchester benefit gig, but Liam subsequently slated his brother for taking a holiday instead, calling him a ‘sad f***’.
Perhaps thinking this a little unfair, Chris Martin took to Twitter this afternoon to make it clear that the performance could not have gone ahead at all without Noel’s blessing.

‘thank you @noelgallagher for giving your blessing and encouragement to play don’t look back in anger and live forever on sunday,’ he wrote.
In further tweets, Chris added that, ‘everyone knew in advance you couldn’t be there physically, so thank you for being there in spirit and for lending us those incredible songs. love cm’.

It wasn’t until a couple of hours later that he returned to Twitter to hail Liam.
‘And thank you @liamgallagher, that was awesome x cm + jb,’ he wrote.
Liam, meanwhile, seemed to have softened his stance towards Chris, whom he once described as looking like a ‘geography teacher’.
Speaking at Pinkpop Festival in the Netherlands today, he said Coldplay had ‘never sounded so good’, adding: ‘I take back everything I’ve ever said about you.’
Something tells us Liam hadn’t seen Chris’s tweets…
