Chrissy Teigen causes breastfeeding storm
MODEL and actress Chrissy Teigen has confused and outraged some followers by sharing an early-morning breastfeeding snap.
The wife of John Legend, who gave birth to her second child just six weeks ago, has posted a picture of herself with baby Miles, his big sister Luna and a third ‘baby’, captioning the image: ‘So I guess I have twins now.’
The third ‘child’, which she is also shown ‘breastfeeding’, is in fact a doll — but that didn’t stop some commenters getting confused.
‘I was trying to figure out how I missed that you had twins,’ one wrote.
Others, however, were more exercised about Chrissy’s uncovered top half.
One wrote: ‘Excrete your bodily fluids out of the public eye, please!’
Another accused her of ‘stirring the pot’, saying: ‘You don’t have to post to Instagram a private moment with your children. We know what breasts are for.’
But the vast majority of comments were overwhelmingly positive and argued the opposite.
One supporter wrote: ‘The world needs to see. It helps normalise the most natural part of life that so many people have decided is UNNATURAL and weird.’
Another wrote: ‘You inspire a lot of moms out there !!! Normalize breastfeeding !!!’
But still one or two persisted in objecting.
‘Since when is showing your breast to the whole world “normal”? What kind of a world to we live in? 😱 don’t get me wrong, breastfeeding is wonderful, but it could easily be done in more “modesty” than this. Honestly.’
As others pointed out, though, ‘If you don’t like it… just scroll past.’
Chrissy herself had a pithy comeback, posting: ‘I don’t care to see grainy fireworks, coachella selfies or infinity pool pics but I let people live.’
