Cher’s surprise: I’m releasing an Abba album Chiquiti-too

YOU wait ages for one, then two Abba records come along at once… thanks to Cher.

While Sweden’s superstars have been sharing more details about their comeback, Cher, 72, unveiled an Abba album of her own following her turn in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.

The Believe singer, who bagged a standing ovation at the sequel’s premiere on Monday, said: ‘After I did Fernando [in the film], I thought it would be fun to do an album of Abba songs, so I did! It’s not what you think of when you think Abba, because I did it in a different way.’

Her surprise comes after Abba’s Björn Ulvaeus gave an update on their first new music in 35 years.

Björn, 73, said: ‘One is a pop tune, very danceable. The other is more timeless, more reflective.’
