Charli XCX busts Will.i.am’s ‘strategy’

The Boom Clap singer has been collaborating with The Voice judge over the follow-up to her 2014 album Sucker, but while she found the experience ‘amazing’ she wasn’t so sure about his song-writing advice.

‘We were writing and he was like, “The verse, just say random words. Nobody listens to the verse,” Charli revealed.

‘I thought, “Hm, interesting strategy.” ‘Then I listened again to his songs and I was like, “F***, he actually does this! He really believes in this strategy!”

‘But it’s a really fun way to write songs,’ she admits.
