Calum Scott has swiped his way to a Tinder fella

CALUM SCOTT isn’t dancing on his own any more — he has bagged a new man at last.

In an exclusive chat with Guilty Pleasures, the singer tells us they met through Tinder. ‘I’ve seen him a couple of times over the last few weeks — it’s very new, very fresh, very exciting,’ said Calum, 29.

But he is wary of using the ‘boyfriend’ word just yet, adding: ‘This is my first stab at a “relationship” — I say that in inverted commas because it’s not one at the moment.’

Coming out as gay last year, the former Britain’s Got Talent contestant revealed the Tinder match is his first romance since shooting to fame on the ITV series. And he admits he was worried his fella, ‘a regular Joe’, might have swiped right for the wrong reasons. ‘You think, do they really like me or is it because of my job? I like to think that it’s not… we’ll see,’ he said.

Calum also commented on reports that he once hooked up with Sam Smith, 25. He admitted they grew ‘close’ during a boozy night out in Nashville. ‘We kept in touch from then, saying we should go out for drinks and dinner, but our schedules just didn’t match,’ he explained.

However, there is a chance they’ll still make sweet music on record. ‘Hopefully we’ll do something together one day, whether that’s in the studio, writing or performing,’ he added.

Calum — whose single You Are The Reason is out now — was at the Gay Times Honours in London’s National Portrait Gallery on Saturday.
