Bond Girl assassin dies at 79

KARIN DOR, who played an assassin opposite Sean Connery’s James Bond, has died at the age of 79.
The German actress, whose most famous role was as villain Helga Brandt in Bond movie You Only Live Twice, reportedly died on Monday after suffering a fall last year.

Dor appeared in dozens of films, TV shows and plays, including Alfred Hitchcock’s Topaz and US crime series Ironside.
But she is best known for meeting a watery end in the 1967 movie, after her character is sent to kill Connery’s 007, who is on the trail of evil genius Ernst Blofeld.
Poor Helga fails to fell Bond and her boss, Mr Osato, feeds her to the fishes — pitching her into a pool of piranhas.

Last July, Dor fell and hit her head on a concrete curb and was unconscious for 15 minutes in an incident involving a mum and her buggy, German newspaper Bild reports.
Despite initially rallying and being cast in a high-profile comedy, she began suffering headaches and entered a care home in March this year, where she died.

Dor was married three times, most recently to American stuntman and actor George Robotham, who died in 2007.
