Bond beckons as Ryan keeps his cool

RYAN GOSLING is being tipped to take on James Bond after acting like the ‘coolest cucumber’ during Sunday’s Oscar fiasco.

The La La Land star couldn’t help suppressing a smirk as the best picture confusion played out in front of him — despite being part of the team that was embarrassingly stripped of the Academy Award in favour of moving drama Moonlight.

And the reward for Ryan’s coolness under pressure is that bookmakers have since cut his odds to succeed Daniel Craig as the super-spy from 14/1 to 10/1.

‘Ryan Gosling showed an admirable sense of humour and his composure was worthy of Mr Bond, the coolest cucumber of the lot,’ said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.

X-Men star Michael Fassbender is currently at 11/4 odds to take on the iconic role, while Grantchester star James Norton is 3/1, Taboo actor Tom Hardy is 11/4 and Poldark heartthrob Aidan Turner is 9/2.
