Blunder will have lasting Aff-lect

CASEY AFFLECK may have a best actor Oscar — but he still just can’t win.
When the Manchester By The Sea star bagged a gong at the Baftas this month he forgot to thank his actor brother Ben. This time he remembered Ben, but overlooked his two sons.
The 41-year-old divorcé, who hit up the Vanity Fair after-party with his statuette and new lover Floriana Lima, 33, fretted: ‘I didn’t thank my children, something I’ll probably never ever live down.’
He said his lads Indiana, 12, and nine-year-old Atticus made sure he soon knew about his omission. ‘About three seconds after I made it backstage, my phone rang and my son said, “You didn’t even mention us”. And my heart just sank,’ said the star, who hugged Ben, 44, when his name was called.
‘That probably would have been the most meaningful thing I could have said and I failed.’
On Affleck’s night of triumph, some fans could not forget the sexual harassment claims that he settled out of court in 2010.
Viewers noticed Brie Larson gave him only a brief hug as she handed over his Oscar.
One tweeted that, at last year’s Oscars, the Room actress embraced sex attack survivors brought on stage by Lady Gaga ‘and now she has to hug Casey Affleck’.
