Being wed to Victoria… it’s complicated, admits Becks
DAVID BECKHAM has admitted his marriage to wife Victoria can sometimes be ‘complicated’.
The ex-footballer and former Spice Girl, who have been wed for 19 years, have regularly had to fight off reports that their marriage was on the rocks.
And now the ex-England captain has remarked: ‘To have been married for the amount of time that we have, it’s always hard work. It becomes a little more complicated.’
The 43-year-old made the admission in a trailer for Australian TV chat show The Sunday Project.
His candid comments come just months after the couple were forced to deny infidelity gossip on social media.
At the time, fashion designer Victoria, 44, said: ‘We both realise we are stronger together than we are as individuals.
‘Would either of us be in the position we are in now had we not met and been together all those years ago? It’s all about the family unit. We are much stronger the six of us. We respect that family bond and that is key.’
In the interview, Beckham agreed the couple’s children Brooklyn 19, Romeo, 16, Cruz, 13, and seven-year-old Harper, are their top priority.
‘Sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest difference. ‘I’ve noticed that with my children,’ he said.
