Bake Off Prue couldn’t sleep after putting her foot in it

PRUE LEITH has revealed she was unable to sleep for days after tweeting congratulations to Great British Bake Off winner Sophie Faldo before the final of the show had been aired.

The 77-year-old, who had been confused about the time as she was away in Bhutan, said prime minister Tshering Tobgay called her after she mentioned his nation in her apology for the error.

‘He was rather pleased because I said Bhutan. It was good for tourism I think,’ she said.

She added her secretary deleted the tweet after only 89 seconds but by then the secret was out.
