At least it’s not a green green rasp

IT’S not unusual for veteran singers to lose their voices, so Tom is eternally grateful that his is still in good nick.

Due to tour later this summer, he spoke of his relief at being able to perform at this point in his career.

‘I’m so thrilled that God has been good to me and He’s allowed me to still sing as strong as I do at the age I’m at,’ Tom added. ‘A lot of singers lose power and vibrato. It hasn’t happened to me yet, and I don’t know when that’s going to kick in.’

The star, whose wife Linda died last year, didn’t take much care of himself as a youngster.

‘I always enjoyed a drink and, when you’re young, you don’t sleep as much as you should — I’ve learnt you can’t burn a candle at both ends!’
