NTAs: As a cat sitter, Dermot O’Leary’s not up to scratch

DERMOT O’LEARY had to cover up some nasty scratches before taking to the stage — after being ‘mauled’ by his new cat.
The claws are out for the TV host as he and wife Dee Koppang adapt to life with their pet.
‘I’m getting mauled on a daily basis,’ Dermot told GP in a pre-show chat. ‘He (the cat) is a nutter.Something clicks, “Right, I want to fight now,” and he doesn’t stop — I’m talking to you with a massive scratch across my nose.’
The star, 44, collected the furball from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home following the death of his four-year-old moggy Silver in the summer.
In an Instagram tribute to Silver, Dermot wrote: ‘He made us better people and won the hearts of all that met him.’
■ SUPERSTITIOUS DERMOT ticks off a list of to-dos before his telly gigs. ‘There is a certain way of putting my clothes on,’ he revealed. ‘[But] you’ve got to kid yourself you’re not going to have a bad show if you put your socks on before your pants!’ He also listens to a ‘very rigid playlist’, including Rocky Road To Dublin by The Dubliners.
