Angelina Jolie: Cash from orphans claim is false and upsetting

ANGELINA JOLIE says she is upset after being accused of playing a cruel game with Cambodian orphans during the casting process for her new movie First They Killed My Father.
The actress-turned-director faced criticism for putting money in front of children and encouraging them to snatch it before they were ‘caught’ and the cash taken back.
But she insists fake notes were used and the children understood they were acting. ‘I am upset that a pretend exercise has been written about as if it was a real scenario,’ Jolie said. ‘The suggestion that real money was taken is false and upsetting. I would be outraged if this had happened.’
The 42-year-old had told Vanity Fair she auditioned children from orphanages, circuses and slum schools by putting money on a table. They were challenged to come up with a story, explaining why they needed it.
