Andrew Garfield: Teen bash was like the a-pucker-lips…
ANDREW GARFIELD says it was beginner’s luck when he first got into girls… after admitting he snogged 30 in one go at a ‘debauched’ teenage party.
Oscar nominee Garfield — who first hit the big time as The Amazing Spider-Man — said he turned into a ‘hormone monster’ and compared his sexual awakening to a battle scene from Braveheart.
Garfield, 34, who once said of his sexuality that he has an ‘openness to any impulses’, recalled: ‘I was 13. I was at an all-boys prep school until the age of 12 and then as the hormone monster came into my life I went to a co-ed school. This girl Dora, she changed all of our lives.
‘She said, “My parents are away this weekend, I was thinking of having a party”… the rest is history.
‘It was about 50 young boys and girls on separate sides of this garden and no parental supervision.
‘Suddenly it was like a scene from Braveheart where the Scottish and English are charging at each other, tongues out… tongues first.
‘It was incredibly debauched! Sorry parents, this is what had to happen. We had to figure it out somehow.’
He concluded: ‘That was my first kiss and I think that night I kissed 30 women… girls.’ The Surrey-raised 34-year-old added: ‘This isn’t me showing off. It was a free-for-all; like a royal rumble. And it remains one of the best nights of my life. It was this mass sexual awakening.’
The memory still lives on for the actor and his mates from the City of London Freemen’s School.
‘I am still friends with four of my friends from school,’ said Garfield, who used to date Emma Stone.
‘We will have a drink in a pub and there will be a quiet moment and one of my friends will be like, “Dora’s party”. Who doesn’t like kissing… any opportunity to kiss?’
