Amir Khan throws the towel in on bug task
AMIR KHAN may be a former world champion boxer but he showed no such traits when he chickened out of the Critter-Cal Rescue on I’m A Celebrity.
The 30-year-old had no help in his corner during a bushtucker trial in a giant termites nest.
After a crab bit his hand and he yanked a snake from a hole, mistaking it for a meal token, Khan yelled the magic words: ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ — much to the dismay of team-mate Georgia Toffolo.
When he told Ant & Dec that he thought his first trial would be easier, the hosts replied: ‘You really haven’t seen the show before have you? We don’t take it easy on you.’
His effort meant that the other celebrities were left with beans and rice on their first night.
The welterweight suffered another gaffe as Twitter users found a tweet from 2012 where he described the show as ‘for has-beens’.
