A duet with The Prodigy? As an idea, it’s not a non-Starter

THE idea might sound bananas, but Bananarama say a collaboration with The Prodigy is not that far-fetched.
Sara revealed their bizarre friendship with Firestarter singer Keith Flint and appeared to approve of the suggestion. ‘I hang out with the Prodigy, Keith is one of my best friends,’ she added. ‘We were on the same label in Japan and became good friends.’
Meanwhile, another celeb link for the band is Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli, who was responsible for their iconic moves in the Venus video.
But Sara, Keren and Siobhan say their co-ordination has nose-dived since then. ‘We’re not very good at arms and legs together,’ said Sara. ‘It’s one or the other.’
■ WHILE she has kissed and made up with Bananarama, Siobhan is not ready to bury the hatchet and resurrect ’90s duo Shakespears Sister. She and US singer Marcella Detroit stormed to No.1 in 1992 with Stay, but fell out soon after. Asked about reuniting with Marcella, 64, she said: ‘It’s certainly not on my agenda at the moment.’ But Keren chipped in: ‘We’ve thought of doing a mash-up of Stay, so you may not be disappointed.’
