50 shades of Bay! Dwayne Johnson on Baywatch reboot

IT’S got sun, sea and smut… and Baywatch star Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson promises the new movie is going to make waves because it’s so naughty.
In an exclusive chat with Guilty Pleasures, the wrestler-turned-Hollywood actor told us how the 1990s teatime telly favourite has been given an R-rated makeover.
There will still be plenty of slo-mo ‘action’ shots for those of you with fond memories of Pamela Anderson bouncing down the beach, assured the beefcake star.
But the antics of the new lifeguard crew at the Bay are more risqué.
‘Trust me when I say Baywatch has got dirty,’ teased The Rock.
‘Just like the television show, the movie is going to entertain fans, but because we aren’t on at a family time, we have been able to be a lot more risky with the jokes.’
The 45-year-old added movie execs wouldn’t have made the big-screen reboot without checking in first with David Hasselhoff — whose head lifeguard character, Mitch Buchannon, The Rock now plays.
‘As soon as I knew Baywatch was happening, I wanted David involved — you don’t do a Baywatch movie and not consult The Hoff,’ he said
Germany’s most beloved pop star, 64, makes a cameo appearance in the flick as The Rock’s reported mentor.
Also set to make a splash are Zac Efron, 29, as Matt Brody, an Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer, and Kelly Rohrbach, 27, taking over Pammy’s old role as CJ Parker.
And the US model admits slipping into the blonde bombshell’s iconic red cossie was a bum deal.
‘The final result of the famous swimsuit looks great, but behind the scenes it was tough,’ she sighed. ‘Fitting after fitting after fitting… “Does my ass look as good as it can be?” These were genuine concerns!’
Directed by Seth Gordon, Baywatch arrives in UK cinemas on Monday.
